PARENTS: Engaging Your Kids – Summer 2020

It’s the dog days of summer! Your kids have been out of school for a few weeks now, which means the panic might be settling in of how to keep their days occupied, with so many summer activities canceled. Camps, recreation centers, daycares, sports, clubs, and even vacations that used to fill your families’ summer days have been removed from the calendar. Just because your summer plans have been derailed doesn’t mean that you cannot create fun summer memories for your kids!

Part of Mt. Gilead’s mission is to guide your daughter’s spiritual development with different activities all around camp – whether that’s Low Ropes, Wednesday Night Hike, Bible-X’s, Singing in the Dining Hall, or Cabin Time. We want to continue this mission by encouraging you to engage with your daughter(s) through crafts, games, recipes, songs, and more that help them grow in faith and character.

I also hope that you and your daughter(s) have been utilizing and enjoying Mt. Gilead At Home for your summer fun!

Hey, I'm Kori! This is my 11th year at Mt. Gilead! I was a camper for 5 years, graduated from the CILT program in 2016, and have been a counselor ever since! Mt. Gilead is my home-away-from-home and I am blessed to continually be apart of this ministry! In the fall, I will be a Junior at Wheaton College studying nursing with hopes to be a midwife one day! I enjoy exercising and playing sports, being outdoors, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with friends!
